After the success of Tonic Glass and Tonic Beach Large and Tonic Beach Medium in the Horeca, Retail as well as promotional segments, Italesse once again calls on the expertise of the Claesson Koivisto Rune to design an champagne ice bucket and champagne ice bowl for the Tonic line.
Developments in the horeca market pointed to an ever-increasing interest for the inclusion of light-features in dining and tableware elements, and it has long-been Italesse’s strong point to interpret such market demands and translate them into concrete proposals. In collaboration with Claesson Koivisto Rune, Italesse reinvents the illuminated champagne ice bucket and champagne bowl category with Tonic Ice. Italesse is no stranger to engineering of light features in its collections, but Tonic Ice by Claesson Koivisto Rune has allowed the company to take a further stride in the production LED lit champagne ice buckets and bowls.
A rechargeable LED base in the form of a disk resides in a small chamber worked in to the very design that protects it from any contact with water. Using a unique push-in/pull-out mechanism, the incorporation of the light feature is as practical as it is intuitive and serves to illuminate the champagne ice bucket and its contents for up to 8 hours. Tonic champagne ice bucket and champagne ice bowl brings a touch of light to the serving ritual, giving prized bottles greater protagonism at the table and illuminating its surroundings with suffused light and a touch of glamour.
Conceived following the minimalist lines of the highly contemporary Tonic Glass, the Tonic Ice Bucket and Bowl have been created with ample surfaces that render it apt for all kinds of personalisation using all kinds of decoration techniques. The practical element of the piece is an integral part of the design and as such the chillers carry the straight, pure lines of Claesson Koivisto Rune’s Nordic trait where nothing is left to chance and function is foremost.
The stark lines of the object are carefully balanced by the curved bases of the champagne ice bucket and champagne ice bowl that serve to smooth and soften its appearance, whilst never compromising the overall stability of the object - a feature that is fundamental in every serving situation. Claesson Koivisto Rune’s Tonic Ice project, effectively succeeds in the difficult task of designing an object that is able to meet professional needs and the general public taste, combining elegance and practicality, innovation and functionality.
